How you'll make an impact

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Carrier economics and performance analyst. This role will be responsible for providing valuable insights and analysis related to carrier economics to management. Duties will include insurance carrier segmentation, identifying commission maximization opportunities and inconsistencies, profit sharing analysis, reporting on carrier utilization and driving improvement areas within carrier relationships.  Expertise in critical thinking, relationship management, collaboration, financial reporting, data analysis, and project management will be crucial in supporting strategic decision-making and driving business growth.

 

This role drives strategic market direction of the Select Personal Lines organization, drive impactful change with senior leadership, and has significant opportunity to impact business outcomes. Responsibilities:

 

Support Insurance Carrier Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key carriers by participating in regular meetings, providing exceptional service, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive segmentation framework to categorize carriers based on various criteria such as ease of use, premium volume and rater availability
  • Conduct thorough analysis of insurance carriers' performance and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Service to optimize results base on Carrier panels.
  • Identify trends and patterns within carrier segments to support strategic planning and resource allocation

Commission and Profit Sharing Analysis:

  • Analyze commission structures and agreements with insurance carriers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of commission plans in driving sales and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for maximizing commission structures and other incentive plans such as supplemental/contingency plans to drive desired behaviors and improve overall revenue results.
  • Proactively collaborate with finance and accounting teams to analyze profit sharing arrangements and identify factors impacting profitability.
  • Reconcile profit sharing allocations and track receipt


Management Reporting:

  • Develop, document and maintain regular management reports to provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Sales and Service goals and results
  • Communicate monthly insights and course adjustments to the team based on carrier performance data, with the goal of improving overall revenue and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and financial information.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate and interpret key insights and trends that inform decision making
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting, and implement improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Tracking of partner, preferred and panel carriers per state
  • Ensure consistent commission schedules per carrier among agency codes in every state to validate highest offering and secure highest offering
  • Support ongoing reporting needs

Merger and Acquisition Integration:

  • Support the integration of acquired companies into the organization.
  • Assist in coordinating Merger carrier data, commissions, contracts, profit sharing arrangements and code roll ups to maximize results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and identify synergies and integration opportunities.

Data Analysis and Visualization:

 

  • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in large datasets.
  • Create visually appealing and informative dashboards and reports using data visualization tools.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested by management.
  • Gathers, conceptualizes, translates, documents, processes and displays requirements for useful market data needs from the field.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in management reporting, financial analysis, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices, carrier segmentation, commission structures, and merger and acquisition integration.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python desired
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with a track record of developing innovate solutions
